Milan Fashion Week SS 2024

One of Milan’s distinctive features is its ability to conceal, behind large, apparently anonymous doors and buildings, majestic entrances and, above all, extraordinary gardens. And indeed, it is in Via Cernaia, at the very heart of bourgeois Milan, that Sara Roka has chosen to unveil her Spring-Summer 2024 collection.

The contrast between the frenzied metropolis and the relaxed, quiet dimension of this green corner of the city results in a style encounter sketched very clearly by the Italian-Canadian designer.

The rigour of men’s styles contrasts with the refined feminine shapes and cuts, inspired by the fifties, that are so distinctive of the brand’s DNA. Here, colourful prints inspired by the underwater world live alongside geometric lines whose rhythm is broken by an irregular alternation of light and dark.

A whimsical play of role reversal between the front and back of the collection’s shirt dresses grants an unexpected twist to one of Sara Roka’s summer wardrobe staples.

Refined and rigorous materials – poplin and cotton piqué, alongside silk twill and organza – leave room for the more playful use of feathers and grosgrain.

A game of contrasts, therefore, in which couture clothing finds ample room for use in daily living. Sara Roka targets a cosmopolitan woman who builds her stylish wardrobe with refined taste and a desire for lightness and playfulness.

The designer thus celebrates her personal expression of research, utmost attention to detail and craftsmanship through timeless garments, entirely made in Italy.
